Laura Sinisalo

Psychologist, in Cognitive Psychotherapist training

About me

As a therapist I put a lot effort in creating a good working alliance with my clients. I’m very open-minded and good at finding new perspectives, which I think helps my clients gain insight to their problems. My approach is also quite practical, and it’s important that the results of the therapy process can be seen in my clients’ wellbeing and daily life.

I’m in training to become a cognitive psychotherapist but I like to integrate different methods based on my clients’ needs. Sometimes it’s important to work on problematic thoughts and behavior, and sometimes to just stay with a difficult emotion and explore it with curiosity and compassion.

I have a lot of experience as a psychologist in specialized psychiatric care and especially therapy with people who suffer from difficult psychiatric problems like psychosis. In this work I have gained a lot of expertise in treating anxiety, ocd, mood problems, performance- and stress-related issues, trauma and life crises.

“I have received a lot of help from Laura. I have been able to let go of some difficult experiences in the past so that they no longer have a detrimental effect on my life. I have gained more resources to working and studying. And I’m able to see the world in a more positive light!”

“Laura has a warm and person-centered approach. Based on your needs, she can give you space to explore difficult issues or be active in using different therapeutic methods and excercises.”
